On Wednesday, November 4, 2015, over 100 engineers and contractors gathered to listen to SMACNA's Director of Engineering & Technical Services Mark Terzigi speak about HVAC Duct Construction Standards. Mark provided a comprehensive review of two of the most referred to technical manuals in construction, SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards Manual and SMACNA HVAC Air Duct Leakage Test Manual. Our local New York City and Long Island chapters provided each attendees with complimentary copies of the manuals to take home. In addition, attendees also received 4 hours of continuing education credits.
Long Island Chapter is Doing Legislative Business at Home
SMACNA Long Island contractors recently met with freshman Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-1st-N.Y.) in New York to brief him on local and national issues of concern. Our group will follow-up with Rep. Zeldin’s chief of staff to talk more in-depth about specific legislation.

Our SMACNA LI Board of Directors recently had breakfast with Congressman Peter King. The group was able to voice our concerns over issues such as running a small business on Long Island. We also had the opportunity to listen to the Congressman's legislative priorities and viewpoint.
